Making a Breastfeeding Gift Set

Posted on: 08/05/2014

I love creating personalized gift sets for people. While there are some lovely prepackaged sets available, I enjoy picking out each piece and it’s generally cheaper to buy individual items & package them yourself. At babyshowers, I often see bottlefeeding gifts, but gifts that promote breastfeeding are rare even when mom has registered for them! Listed below are a few items that I feel would be great to include in such a gift. (*Disclaimer: Links posted include affiliate links.*)

Ina May’s Guide to Breastfeeding: I love anything & everything written by Ina May Gaskin & this book is no exception! With sections on the benefits of nursing, breastfeeding challenges, and more; this book will become a breastfeeding mom’s best friend.

Earth Mama Angel Baby Organic Milkmaid Tea: Keeping hydrated while nursing is a must! Many moms give up coffee while breastfeeding so that baby doesn’t get a jolt of caffeine. This tea is a good substitute because the ingredients can help support milk production.

Earth Mama Angel Baby Natural Nipple Butter: Some moms suffer from dry cracked nipples. This nipple butter is vegan (most creams use lanolin which is from sheep) and toxin free, so there’s no need to clean it off before nursing (who has time for that?).

Bamboobies Washable Nursing Pads Variety Pack: Disposable nursing pads are made with all kinds of nasty toxins, just like disposable diapers. Washable pads are softer, reusable & prettier too. This variety pack has two levels of absorbency, regular & overnight. In the early weeks of non-stop leaking, I used my overnight pads all day long!

Any of these items would be much appreciated by a new mom, but all together they would be a lovely gift set. Do you have anything you’d add in for a new breastfeeding mom?
