Saturday Usborne Discount Book, “Breasts”

Posted on: 07/19/2014

I know that quality books can be expensive, especially when you’re trying to build a children’s collection from scratch. Each Saturday I’ll be highlighting a book from my Usborne Internet Specials page where you can find books on sale at 40-70% off. The sales page is updated regularly, so check back often & be sure to act fast if you see something you like.

This first Saturday Usborne Discount Book is totally fitting for this blog! It’s Breasts by Genichiro Yagyu on sale for $5.00 (50% off) . While this book points out that everyone has breasts, the main focus is that breasts are for feeding babies. A children’s book about breastfeeding? Yes please!

From the Usborne website, “ Breasts tells it like it is – and like it should be! Exploring the inner workings of breasts and their important role in feeding the babies of the world, it gives, in a funny and direct way, information children want and need about their anatomy.

This book is recommended for ages 5-9, but I’ve read it to my three year old numerous times. The book states things in a matter of fact manner without going over children’s heads. We read Breasts on a regular basis in our home since breastfeeding is a part of our day to day life. It would be a great tool to use when explaining breastfeeding to children who aren’t around it often. The book will be on sale until July 28th, or while supplies last.
